၂။ since as conjunction

ၿပီးခဲ႔တဲ႔ ပထမပိုင္းမွာ since ကို preposition, conjunction နဲ႔ adverb အေနနဲ႔ ဝါက်ေတြမွာ သံုးတဲ႔အေၾကာင္းေျပာၿပီး preposition အေနနဲ႔ အသံုးျပဳပံုေတြကို ေရးခဲ႔ပါတယ္။ ခုဆက္ၿပီး conjunction (သမၺႏၶ) အေနနဲ႔ သံုးတဲ႔ အေၾကာင္း တင္ျပသြားပါမယ္။

Conjunction အေနနဲ႔ since ကို သံုးတဲ႔ အခါမွာ Main clause နဲ႔ subordinate clause ႏွစ္ခုကို ဆက္သြယ္ေပးတဲ႔ သမၺႏၶအေနနဲ႔႔ အသံုးျပဳပါတယ္။ အဲဒီလို သံုးတဲ႔အခါမွာ "အခ်ိန္ျပ since" နဲ႔ "အေၾကာင္းျပ since" ဆိုၿပီး ႏွစ္မ်ိဳး ေတြ႔ႏိုင္ပါတယ္။

၂ (က)။ အခ်ိန္ျပ since

Subordinate clause (since နဲ႔စတဲ႔ clause) ရဲ႕ႀကိယာဟာ အတိတ္ကာလရဲ႕ အျဖစ္အပ်က္႔ကို ေဖၚျပမယ္။ အဲဒါကို since နဲ႔ဆက္လိုက္ေတာ႔ "ျဖစ္ပ်က္ခဲ႔တဲ႔အခ်ိန္ ကတည္းက" လို႔ အခ်ိန္ျပ အေနနဲ႔ အသံုးျပဳတဲ႔အတြက္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္က "အခ်ိန္ျပ since" လို႔ ေခၚတာပါ။

ဒီလို since ကို အခ်ိန္ျပ အေနနဲ႔သံုးတဲ႔အခါ ပထမပိုင္း (since as preposition) မွာ ေဖၚျပခဲ႔တဲ႔ အသံုးနဲ႔ တူပါတယ္။ Main clause ကို perfect tense (simple or continuous) နဲ႔ေဖၚျပၿပီး subordinate clause ကိုေတာ႔ present perfect ဒါမွမဟုတ္ simple past tense ေတြနဲ႔ ႔ေတြ႔ႏိုင္ပါတယ္။

ဥပမာ -
-I have been studying since you left.
  သင္ထြက္သြားၿပီးကတည္းက ကၽြန္ေတာ္စာၾကည့္ေနခဲ့သည္။

- I have been studying - ကၽြန္ေတာ္ စာၾကည္႔ေနခဲ့သည္ - (main clause)

- you left - သင္ထြက္သြားခဲ့သည္။ - (subordinate clause)

-She had been doing her homework since she came back from school.
သူမ ေက်ာင္းမွ ျပန္ေရာက္လာကတည္းက အိမ္စာလုပ္ေနခဲ့သည္။

- I have loved you since I first met you.
  မင္းနဲ႔ ပထမ ေတြ႔ဆံုခဲ့ရကတည္းက ခ်စ္ခဲ့ပါသည္။

- Google has banned 200 publishers since it passed a new policy against fake news.
မမွန္မကန္သတင္းႏွင့္ပါတ္သက္ၿပီး မူဝါဒအသစ္ ခ်မွတ္ၿပီးကတည္းက Google သည္ သတင္းထုတ္ေဝသူ ၂၀၀ ကို ပိတ္ပင္ၿပီးျဖစ္သည္၊

၂ (ခ)။ အေၾကာင္းျပ since

Clause ႏွစ္ခုထဲက since clause ဟာ main clause ႀကိယာရဲ႕အေၾကာင္းခံ (cause or reason) ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ေျပာဆိုတဲ႔အခါမွာ since ဟာ because နဲ႔ အဓိပၸါယ္ ဆင္တူပါတယ္။ ဒီလို က်ိဳးေၾကာင္းျပသမၺႏၶ အေနနဲ႔ သံုးတဲ႔ အခါမွာ since clause ကို ေရွ႕မွာထားေလ႔ရွိပါတယ္။

ဥပမာ -

-Since you all are here, I am announcing my good news.
မင္းတို႔အားလံုး ဒီမွာရွိေနၿပီဆိုေတာ႔ ငါ႔သတင္းေကာင္းကို ေၾကညာလိုက္ေတာ႔မယ္။

အထက္က ဝါက်ဟာ - I am announcing my good news because you all are here ဆိုတဲ႔ အဓိပၸါယ္နဲ႔ ခပ္ဆင္ဆင္ တူပါတယ္။ ဒီလို သံုးတဲ႔ အေၾကာင္းျပ since မွာ perfect tense ေတြနဲ႔ သံုးစရာမလိုပါ။

- Since he cheated, his girlfriend left him.
  သူေဖါက္ျပန္လို႔ သူ႔ခ်စ္သူက သူ႔ကို ထားခဲ့တယ္။

- But, since you have always treated me with a peculiar and undeserved tenderness; since I know how much you are interested in whatever concerns me, far above the common feelings of a parent; since you have kindly desired me to look upon you rather in the light of a friend than a father; I think it is my duty, without reserve, to disclose to you the whole state of my mind;...

သူမတူေသာ၊ ကၽြႏုပ္ႏွင့္ မထိုက္တန္ေသာ ယုယမႈမ်ားႏွင့္ သင္ ကၽြႏုပ္ကို အျမဲျပဳစုခဲ့ေပသည္။ ကၽြႏုပ္ႏွင့္ပတ္သက္ေသာ အရာ မွန္သမၽွကို အသင္သည္ မိဘတစ္ဦး၏ ထားရွိေနက်စိတ္ဆႏၵ၏ တဖက္ကမ္းတိုင္ စိတ္ဝင္စားေပးခဲ့သည္ကို ကၽြႏုပ္သိပါ၏။ အေဖတစ္ဦး ဆိုသည္ထက္ သူငယ္ခ်င္းတဦးအျမင္ျဖင့္ သင္၏အေပၚ ၾကည့္ျမင္ဘို႔ ၾကင္နာစြာျဖင့္ဆႏၵရွိခဲ့သည္။ ဤအရာမ်ားအားလံုးကို စဥ္းစားေသာ္ ကၽြႏုပ္၏ စိတ္ေစတသိက္ အလံုးစံုအား သင့္ထံသို႔  ဖြင့္ဟဝန္ခ်ရန္မွာ ကၽြႏု္ပ္၏ အႂကြင္းမဲ့ တာဝန္တရပ္ဟု မွတ္ယူပါသည္။

၃။ ႀကိယာဝိေသသန since
===============

ေနာက္ဆံုးတစ္ခုကေတာ႔ adverb (ႀကိယာဝိေသသန)  အေနနဲ႔ သံုးတဲ႔ ပံုစံေတြဘဲျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

Since/since then/ever since ဆိုၿပီး ႀကိယာဝိေသသန အေနနဲ႔ သံုးတဲ႔အခါ အဲဒီကတည္းက ဆိုတဲ႔ အဓိပၸါယ္နဲ႔ သံုးပါတယ္။

ဥပမာ -

- She ran away with her boyfriend three months ago and we haven't heard from her since.
လြန္ခဲ့တဲ႔သံုးလတုန္းက သူ႔ရည္းစားနဲ႔ ထြက္ေျပးသြားတယ္။ အဲဒီကတည္းက သူ႔ဆီက ဘာမွမၾကားရေတာ႔တာပါဘဲ။

- They met in a dancing party and they have been together since then.
သူတို႔ အကပါတီတစ္ခုမွာ ဆံုခဲ့ၾကတယ္။ အဲဒီကတည္းက အတူတြဲေနခဲ့ၾကတာဘဲ။

ဒီေလာက္ဆိုရင္ Since အေၾကာင္းကို ေတာ္ေတာ္ေလး ျခံဳငံုမိေလာက္ၿပီလို႔ ထင္ပါတယ္။
