ဝါတြင္း= the Buddhist Lent

ဝါကၽြတ္= end of the Buddhist Lent

ဝါဆိုသည္= (of the Buddhist monks) go into monsoon retreat

လျပည့္ေန႔= full moon day

လဆန္း= waxing of the moon

လဆုတ္= waning of the moon

လႈဖြယ္ဝတၳဳ= money and commodities offered for the use of monks (offerings ကို လႈဖြယ္ပစၥည္းမ်ား လို႔လည္းသံုးတယ္)

ဥပုသ္= sabbath

ဥပုသ္ေန႔= sabbath day

ဥပုသ္ေစာင့္သည္= keep sabbath

တရားထိုင္သည္= practise religious meditation; sit in meditation

ေလာကီ= the secular world

ေလာကီေရးရာ= worldly affairs

ေလာကဓံ= ups and downs of life; the vicissitudes of life

သံသရာ= Samsara; cycle of rebirths

ကုသိုလ္= merit; virtuous action; good deeds

အကုသိုလ္= evil; misdeed; demerit

ဝဋ္လည္ျခင္း= divine retribution;

ဝဋ္လိုက္သည္= suffer the consequences of past sins and misdeeds

ေယာဂီ= Yogi; one who practises religious meditation

ကမၼဌာန္း= religious meditation

ကမၼဌာန္းထိုင္သည္= practise religious meditation

သတိပဌာန္= total awareness of one's body and mind

အဝိဇၨာ= ignorance

တဏွာ= lust; excessive craving

သခၤါရ= impermanence

ဥေပကၡာ= indifference; detachment

သံေယာဇဥ္= attachment

ေလာဘ= greed; avarice

ေဒါသ= anger

ေမာဟ= ignorance

ပါရမီ၊ အထံု= aptitude

နတ္ကေတာ္= spirit medium

ေဗဒင္= astrology; fortune telling

ေဗဒင္ဆရာ= fortune teller; astrologer

ေဗဒင္ေဟာသည္= tell one's fortune; predict the future

ေဗဒင္ေမးသည္= consult a fortune teller; consult an astrologer

လကၡဏာၾကည့္သည္= to have one's palm read

လကၡဏာၾကည့္ေပးသည္= read the palm and interpret his character

လကၡဏာ= lines on one's palms

လကၡဏာဆရာ= palmist; palm-reader

လကၡဏာပညာ= palmistry

အေဆာင္= charm; amulet

ဇာတာ= horoscope

ဇာတာခြင္= location of stars and planets on a horoscope
